 
        Frankfurt International School seeks an experienced and reliable Facilities Safety and Maintenance Coordinator (part time, 80%) to ensure, all FIS facilities & grounds on the Oberursel and Wiesbaden campus follow required maintenance and safety requirements. The position is available effective 1 November 2025. Applicants should hold a valid work and residence permit for Germany. Preferred Qualifications/Expectations Completed vocational training Computer literacy Minimum of 5 years relevant experience English and German preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to operate in an international and multi-cultural environment Job Responsibilities The duties of the position will include, but will not be limited to: Primary Focus Oversees and reports on the maintenance of the facilities and grounds of the school. Coordinates and provides oversight of all health, safety and facilities issues at FIS. This includes the procedures, policies, decision-making protocols, and the overall culture of healthy and workplace safety. Ensures the safety of the FIS campus to prevent accidents at work, occupational diseases and work-related health hazards. The incumbent will also be one of the designated Safety Officers (Sicherheitsbeauftragter) responsible for all aspects of safety on the campus. Undertakes facilities projects that may be assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations. Workplace Safety Responsible to hold and document regular safety and occupational health meetings (ASA). Responsible for development and maintenance of all health and safety procedures and documentation including regular risk assessments in coordination with the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations. Employee Occupational Health Program to be coordinated with employees and external doctor. Arranges regular maintenance and safety audits of designated teaching equipment (i.e. Science Labs, Design & Technology, Sports Equipment). Coordinates with the Personnel Office any requirements according maternity leave and work place safety. Compliance with German Regulations Ensures safety issues that affect the school are assessed regularly. Coordinates regular external audits of our facilities and equipment according to legal and insurance requirements (Technische PrüfVO). Maintains and updates the digital documentation of maintenance, assessments and construction project inventory records. Helps to prioritize and fix any findings of the audits to ensure compliance with German regulations. Organizes the hazardous waste disposal. Collaboration Provides/arranges regular safety training for faculty and staff (first aid training, fire sweeper, fire extinguisher training). Responsible for creating a calendar of safety drills and running them, including all related communication.
