We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled Solution Architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise-grade IT architectures within a mission-driven international organisation focused on environmental initiatives. This role supports the delivery of sustainable digital solutions by ensuring that system designs align with long-term strategic goals, organisational architecture standards, and best practices.The ideal candidate will combine a deep technical background with an ability to work collaboratively across teams, guiding projects from requirements through implementation with a focus on scalability, performance, and sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and document end-to-end IT architectures that support tactical project requirements and align with organisational digital strategy and reference models.Review and contribute to the formulation of business and functional requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and architectural alignment.Provide input into enterprise IT governance activities, including updates to development methodologies, architectural frameworks, and design standards.Review and approve technical deliverables across the software development lifecycle—including code, testing strategies, and configurations—to ensure conformance with agreed architectures.Offer technical leadership to software designers and developers, ensuring alignment with best practices and organisational goals.Act as a subject matter expert on IT architecture principles, methodologies, tools, and emerging technologies relevant to complex systems.Lead or contribute to architectural decision-making, documenting rationale and maintaining traceability across solution components.Conduct non-functional requirements analysis, including security, performance, scalability, and maintainability, for both project-specific and shared framework components.Engage in cross-functional collaboration with development, infrastructure, security, and data teams to ensure cohesive and future-ready solutions.Essential Skills and QualificationsMinimum 7 years of experience in solution architecture and enterprise system design.Strong grasp of industry-recognised design methodologies and architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).Proven experience designing systems for Business Process Management, Web Applications, Relational Databases, and Cloud/Microservices infrastructures.Familiarity with data and object modelling, security design patterns, and performance optimisation.Hands-on experience architecting solutions using Microsoft Azure.In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including traditional, iterative, agile, and DevOps methodologies.Excellent team collaboration and communication skills in English.Strong customer-focus, problem-solving mindset, and ability to operate in a project-driven, international environment.Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceBroad technical background across data analytics, CRM, BPM, OLAP/MOLAP, and cloud-native ecosystems.Certifications such as TOGAF, PRINCE2, or Scrum.Experience supporting performance testing and system optimisation efforts.Prior work within multinational or public-sector environments is highly regarded.Demonstrated ability to guide cross-domain, cross-functional solutions in diverse technical contexts.Benefits:Hybrid working model.Private insurance.Unlimited free access to wellness workplace support platform.A dynamic challenging environment resulting in continuous learning / education / progression.Ability to work with cutting edge technologies.Pleasant working environment.UpcoMinds is a dynamic IT company with 25 years of experience that provides end-to-end web and mobile solutions helping businesses to reinvent themselves in the digital world.
