Overview
Viking EMEA is expanding its customer service team in Bad Oldesloe (Schleswig-Holstein / Germany). We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to be the first point of contact for our clients, delivering exceptional service and driving sales opportunities.
You will manage the end-to-end process from product selection and quoting to order entry and delivery, leveraging your commercial mindset and technical affinity to enhance sales over the phone. The role may develop into customer management of a selected portfolio and, although office-based, may involve occasional customer visits.
Main responsibilities
* Understand and convert customer needs into complete product offerings (product understanding required).
* Prepare and follow up quotes based on pricing guidelines, with authority to close sales within company rules to maximize quote conversion.
* Cooperate with the credit department to ensure reliable order fulfilment.
* Process and follow up incoming orders.
* Maximize sales by proactively providing customers with product and service information to influence decision making.
* Provide customers with price, lead time, product information, and technical documents.
* Liaise with replenishment team and occasionally with suppliers for drop shipments.
* Coordinate shipments to customers and liaise with warehouse/carrier as necessary.
* Check daily reports and act accordingly.
* Perform additional tasks as requested by the Senior Customer Service Manager.
You will report to the Local Operations Manager, based in Bad Oldesloe.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial or customer service environment (ideally B2B).
* Technical background or experience working with technical products.
* Administrative skills and some technical knowledge; international trade (import/export) experience is a plus.
* Strong phone communication skills (quote follow-up, direct prospect engagement).
* Excellent command of German and English. Additional languages are a plus.
* Proficiency with IT tools (Office suite and modern ERP systems); SAP experience is advantageous.

* Fast learner, dynamic, and able to multi-task in a busy office environment.
