Job Summary:
We are looking for an exceptional Power Systems Engineer with a PhD to lead a talented team working on critical power grid projects. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, guiding innovative solutions, and managing complex engineering projects that support the stability and modernization of the power grid. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for driving progress in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, guiding them in the design, analysis, and optimization of power systems.
* Conduct cutting-edge research and simulations to advance the development of modern power grid solutions, particularly in the context of Germany’s energy transition (Energiewende).
* Develop strategies to enhance the performance, reliability, and resilience of power transmission and distribution networks.
* Drive the integration of renewable energy sources (wind, solar) and energy storage technologies into the grid.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and utility providers, to ensure effective project delivery and compliance with local standards.
* Oversee the planning and implementation of grid modernization initiatives, with a focus on smart grids and digitalization.
* Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations for senior management and external partners.
Required Qualifications:
* PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in Power Systems.
* At least 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, with proven leadership experience in a technical environment.
* Deep knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, especially within the context of Germany’s energy landscape.
* Experience in the integration of renewable energy sources and smart grid technologies.
* Proficiency with power system modeling and analysis software (e.G., MATLAB, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
* Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
