A global pharmaceutical company requires an experienced Procurement Director to lead the function on a major project.
Reporting to the Global Procurement Team, this individual will be responsible for managing procurement for a highly complex CAPEX project, ensuring corporate organizational interface and alignment of global and local standards.
Responsibilities :
* Lead the commercial evaluation and advise on incoming bids (EPCM, equipment, engineering suppliers).
* Coordinate internally with stakeholders such as legal, SMEs, and finance.
* Act as an escalation point for ongoing supplier issues.
* Support technical SMEs with commercial questions.
* Proactively identify and prevent delays to contractual milestones.
* Participate in project meetings to provide updates on document submissions.
* Update relevant stakeholders on mitigations and project improvements.
* Review status reports, identify potential problems, and initiate mitigation actions.
* Visit sites and suppliers regularly to assess progress and status, collaborating with engineering and other stakeholders.
* Report on own procurement packages.
* Drive RFQ processes, including strategy, tendering, evaluation, negotiations, and contracting.
* Maintain meticulous records and lead the procurement team and support functions using the project's RFQ tool.
Requirements :
* Proven ability to identify opportunities, influence strategic direction, and exceed expectations.
* Experience with controllership, product costing, and data stewardship.
* Technical proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.
* Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills.
* Experience in project planning and implementation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing business processes.
* Strong commercial skills.
Educational qualifications include a degree in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. High integrity, fiscal responsibility, and business ownership are essential. Fluency in English and German is required.
