The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Principal Engineer with mechanical experience to join our data centre team in our Frankfurt office. You will play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of our design solutions on some of the most notable and large-scale data centre projects in the world.
You will collaborate within our data centre team and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to help drive and manage the delivery of technically excellent projects.
The role entails you being very closely involved with the design process and production of design deliverables, managing your immediate team of engineers. You will monitor budgets and programme, check designs, and communicate with the wider project and client team.
You will support and be supported by senior staff within the team.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce mechanical designs, including HVAC and public health and building management services systems.
2. Prepare technical specifications, schedules, calculations, project reports, and supporting documentation.
3. Conduct site inspections and surveys to inform design development.
4. Develop detailed and coordinated design solutions in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
5. Contribute to internal and external project meetings, providing mechanical expertise and updates.
6. Assist with fee proposals and business development activities as required.
7. Collaborate with colleagues across regional and international offices on project delivery.
8. Support the technical growth of the mechanical team in Germany.
The Skills
A Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership, educated to a degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent technical engineering discipline. You will be fluent in English at both a written and speaking level and a strong communicator.
You will have gained significant experience in a consulting engineering role within your engineering field. Whilst data centre experience is preferred this is not essential. In your most recent position, you will have demonstrated your ability to manage small-to-medium scale projects and small teams of engineers to deliver projects.
