We are partnering with an internationally recognised organisation at the forefront of biospecimen solutions and laboratory services to appoint an experienced Research Pathologist based in Hessen, Germany. The Opportunity
As Research Pathologist, you will play a key leadership role within the organisation’s pathology division, acting as Medical Director for the Kassel site while collaborating with global scientific and clinical teams. You will contribute directly to cutting-edge biomarker research and translational science initiatives supporting pharmaceutical and biotech clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor an international team of pathologists
* Serve as Medical Director for the Kassel, Germany site
* Maintain and expand relationships within the global pathology community
* Drive optimisation of pathology workflows and operational processes
* Support assay development and validation activities
* Collaborate with project management, business development teams, and external clients
* Review and evaluate clinical trial specimens
* Train external pathologists in the interpretation of novel biomarkers
* Partner with customers on scientific publications and conference posters
Requirements
* Board-certified Pathologist (German board certification preferred)
* Additional training in Cytology
* Strong expertise in predictive biomarkers, particularly within oncology and immunology
* Experience with:
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Multiplex Immunofluorescence (mIF)
FISH
RNA in situ hybridisation
* Experience working with digital pathology/imaging platforms
* Hematopathology and/or genomics experience is advantageous
* Excellent English communication skills
* Comfortable working within a GCLP-regulated environment
* Ability to work on-site in Hessen, Germany
