Hauptaufgaben
As a senior journeyman heavy mobile equipment mechanic, required to perform duties on a vast array of special purpose tactical and non-tactical vehicles and equipment that include but not limited to mobile and stationary power plants/generators, MHE (Material Handling Equipment), trailers, heavy platform vehicles from 1 1/4 to 20 tons which will include construction, industrial and military combat vehicles and equipment. Duties being conducted are inspections, troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, adjusting, removing, installing, testing, disassembles and reassembles numerous systems, subsystems and all their components to include but not limited to; fuel system, electrical system; which includes wiring harness, starting and charging systems, power train, body repairs, pneumatic, chassis, suspension, steering systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, air conditions- electrical and vapor systems; to include refrigeration charging systems, fire suppressant system (FSS) and all brake type systems to include but not limited to air, hydraulic, disc, wedge, S cam and drum brakes. Proficient in reading and applying principles in electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Skilled in the different methods of welding to include TIG (gas tungsten arc) welding, flux-core arc welding, stick (shielded metal arc) welding, MIG (gas metal arc) welding and plasma arc welding. Duties performed requires knowledge in the uses of computerized systems for testing brake systems to meet the Army's and host nation laws and requirements. Able to apply newest technology methods for repairing, troubleshooting, testing and analyzing issues/faults with vehicles and equipment which includes the use of computers and a variety of high-tech test sets. Decides on work methods, tools, and equipment, which are best suited to complete assignments in the most economical, safe and efficient way. Renders advice to personnel in lower grades in proper workmanship and techniques of work accomplishment, and performs on-the-job training.
Adheres to applicable safety provisions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
A3-5803-5:
Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.

5 years of specialized experience.

A-5803-6:
Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently./
Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten, PLUS 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Lohngruppe 5 oder in, vom Schwierigkeitsgrad vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten, welche selbstaendig ausgeuebt wurden.
