Database Administrator Role
As a key member of our team, the Database Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, performance, security, and availability of our organization's database environments.
* Manage day-to-day database operations to ensure optimal stability and performance.
* Handle service requests, resolve incidents, and implement changes efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and maintain database system software to support business operations effectively.
* Perform and manage database migrations to Oracle 19C seamlessly.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database efficiency.
* Execute database refreshes as required by business needs.
* Ensure database security through proper access control and permission management.
* Manage backup and recovery of databases using Oracle RMAN, ensuring full disaster recovery capability.
* Configure and administer Oracle High Availability solutions using RAC & Data Guard.
* Propose and implement improvements for database maintenance, reliability, performance, and security.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Database Administrator with Oracle databases.
* Strong knowledge of Oracle 19C and experience with database migrations.
* Expertise in backup and recovery strategies (RMAN).
* Experience with Oracle RAC for scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
* Good understanding of database security, roles, and permissions.
* Ability to analyze and troubleshoot performance issues.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes (incidents, requests, changes) is an advantage.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
* Fluent in English; French is an asset.
* 6 years of similar experience and a bachelor degree in IT.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Knowledge of automation tools and scripting for database administration.
* Exposure to virtualization or cloud environments.
Work Conditions:
* Full-time position on-site (1 homeworking day/week) or full off-site position (to decide).
