This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany and EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben Resolves customer vehicle needs and transportation problems. Evaluates conventional or procedural issues associated with vehicle needs and transportation problems and arranges for changes in vehicle types based on customers need. Advises customer on the advantages of proper care and operation of vehicles. Receives and evaluates requests from customer for additional and/ or replacement vehicles. Reviews vehicle and service requests for compliance with current government regulations. Requests additional justifications or clarifications when necessary. Briefs the Chief, Transportation Motor Pool regarding determinations of cost and suitability of customer requested vehicles. Identifies most suitable vehicle to perform the required functions. Determines options required on all standard vehicles based on customer needs, work conditions, terrain, weather, etc. Reviews vehicle records and based on such factors as utilization, age and mileage, recommends to his/ her supervisor which vehicles should be retained in inventory and which should be replaced with the next vehicle exchange. Reviews, evaluates and coordinates requests from customer units for the installation of non-capitalized accessory equipment and vehicle modifications. Requests additional clarification or justification when necessary. Recommends approval or rejection actions to be taken. Prepares necessary documentation for capitalized accessory equipment for approval by higher Command and Fleet Management Center (FMC). Assesses environmental/safety laws compliance and briefs findings to the FMC, higher Headquarters, and vendors on government requirements. Issues scheduled service notices to customer units and monitors/records compliance. Consults with customer on services provided and coordinates non scheduled repair/service after authorized by the FMC.Receives information from the customer and works closely with the FMC or his/her designee in the review and analysis of service provided. Initiates corrective actions to ensure identified problems are resolved quickly and thoroughly. As required, performs inspections and evaluates performance of vendors. Provides findings to higher Headquarters and FMC and documents all files appropriately. Creates and fosters a good relationship between vendors, customer units and the Transportation Motor Pool. 20% Performs other duties as assigned. Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below. E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below. E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required. Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade. Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc. Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position.
