Why Join
My client is one of the most technically ambitious AI startups in Berlin right now. With thousands of users across Europe's financial and legal sectors, strong product-market fit, and a +25 person // senior engineering team that actually ships, this is a rare chance to own the hardest part of the stack at a company where your code is the product. Everything runs under strict latency and memory constraints
What You'll
* DoOwn performance-critical components in C++ and/or Rust end-to-end, design, build, ship, iterate
* Push the boundaries of real-time audio processing and on-device ML inference
* Solve hard latency and memory problems across macOS, Windows, and iOS, simultaneously
* Architect systems where correctness and speed are both non-negotiable
* Contribute to open source where your work intersects the ecosystem
* Work directly with the founding team
What You Bring
Must-have:
* 6–10 years of production C++ or Rust, ideally both, no exceptions on depth
* Systems programming instincts: memory models, concurrency primitives, lock-free data structures
* SIMDExperience building real-time pipelines where latency is not negotiable, audio, video, trading, sensors
* Active GitHub,open source contributions are a strong positive signal
Strong plus:
* On-device ML inference experience (whisper.cpp, ONNX Runtime, CoreML, or similar
* Cross-platform native development across macOS, Windows,
* iOSStartup or scaleup background, you've shipped under ambiguity and owned the outcome
* Open source contributions you're genuinely proud of
Nice to have:
* GDPR / privacy-by-design engineering experience
* Background in regulated industries (fintech, legaltech, healthtech)
* Prior experience at an AI-native or developer tools company
This is a career-defining engineering role in one of the most technically demanding and ethically meaningful AI categories being built in Europe to day.
