We are currently seeking a (Senior) Underwriter (d/f/m) to join our Life/Health CUBES team in Cologne on a permanent basis, working in an international environment with a focus on Europe. CUBES stands for Claims, Underwriting, Biometrical, Evaluation, Services.

* You independently assess and underwrite complex biometric risks, with a strong focus on medical and financial risks as well as special risks (occupation, sport, travel).
* You build and maintain strong client relationships and work closely with international offices and subsidiaries.
* Contributing your expertise to strategic initiatives, you actively drive innovative topics such as AI in close collaboration with our Market Units and Research & Development team.
* You take ownership of quality, conduct audits, test system updates and provide feedback on underwriting processes.
* Sharing your expertise through presentations, workshops and training sessions, you strengthen underwriting capabilities across the business.
* You bring solid professional experience: at least 5 years in underwriting, ideally including experience in reinsurance.
* You have the right background: a university degree in a relevant field such as insurance, finance, business, health or medicine, or alternatively a completed professional qualification in insurance.
* Languages are your strength: you communicate confidently in German and/or English. Additional languages (e.g. Dutch, French or Italian) are a plus. If you do not yet speak German, we expect a willingness to learn the language.
* You are analytical and digitally savvy, confident in working with MS Office and with a strong attention to detail.
* Flexibility comes naturally to you: occasional domestic and international travel is not an issue for you.
