Project Engineer – Secondary Technology (Control & Protection) Location: Berlin, Germany (2–3 days on-site per week) Sector: Owner’s Engineering – High Voltage Amber Renewables is supporting a leading engineering consultancy in their search for a Project Engineer – Secondary Technology (Control & Protection) to join their growing Owner’s Engineering team in Berlin. In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for control and protection systems across high-voltage (HV) substation and grid connection projects, ensuring technical quality and compliance from concept to commissioning. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver technically sound, safe, and efficient energy infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage secondary technology topics across multiple HV projects. Design and review control and protection schematics and documentation. Support the development of plant standards, guidelines, and technical concepts. Conduct FATs and oversee contractors during implementation. Ensure quality, budget, and safety targets are met. Requirements: Degree in Electrical, Energy, or Control Engineering. Minimum 3 years’ experience in HV substation control and protection systems (up to 400kV). Familiarity with StatCom, SVC, or reactive power compensation systems is advantageous. Proficient in MS Office (SAP knowledge an advantage). Fluent German (C1) and very good English (B2). Willingness to travel for project needs. Offer: Full-time, permanent role. Salary up to €110,000, depending on experience. Dynamic, international work environment.
