As a CMS Consultant/Developer, you will be part of the Professional Services team and work closely with customers to implement tailored CMS solutions using the FirstSpirit platform, with a strong focus on Java and web technologies. You’ll develop editor interfaces, output logic, and custom plugins while also delivering technical training and support in both German and English. Acting as both a developer and consultant, you'll collaborate across teams, manage small to mid-sized implementations, and contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback to the product team. What will you do? Collaborate directly with customers to gather project requirements and implement effective solutions within their FirstSpirit CMS environment. Design and develop editor interfaces for content management, define output logic (e.g., HTML), and build custom FirstSpirit plugins using Java. Deliver technical training sessions for developers from customer and partner organizations in both German and English. Actively contribute to project discussions by proposing implementation ideas and constructively addressing challenges as they arise. Participate in regular team meetings with project managers to align on project needs and solution strategies. Take ownership of small to medium-sized project implementations, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and quality expectations. Efficiently manage and prioritize your own tasks and timelines, while providing accurate effort estimations for project activities. Technical responsibilities Offer expert-level support in customer projects when needed. Assist with the technical onboarding of new cloud customers. Serve as both a developer and consultant in customer project implementations. Share valuable customer feedback and insights with the Crownpeak product team to support continuous improvement. Lead developer training workshops for customers and partners. Who are you? We don't believe in ticking boxes here at Crownpeak. Here are a few skills that we feel would make you successful in the role, but we’d still love to hear from you if you feel you’d be a great fit. Solid technical background with experience in web technologies and a good understanding of CMS systems and concepts; experience with FirstSpirit is a strong plus. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with customers; internal team communication is conducted in German. Hands-on experience with Java programming (framework expertise not required). Basic understanding of frontend technologies, particularly JavaScript (PWA/SPA). Ability to convey technically complex topics clearly and appropriately to different audiences. Demonstrates curiosity, eagerness to learn, and openness to new ideas and constructive feedback. Skilled in at least one relevant technology stack (Java and/or JavaScript) applicable to Crownpeak solutions. Proficiency in German (mandatory) and English at a minimum B2 level; C1 preferred.
