We are looking for an Instructional Designer (m/f/d) to join our Customer Education Team at Lobster. In this role, you will help customers and partners successfully adopt and use the Lobster Data Platform through high-quality self-service learning experiences. You will design, create, and maintain structured learning modules supported by written documentation and video-based training. Working at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Customer Enablement, you will translate real-world product usage into scalable educational content that reaches thousands of users across our global customer base. This is a role for someone who combines technical curiosity with a genuine talent for clear communication. You’ll get to take ownership of: Designing, planning, and creating structured self-service learning modules across all product areas Developing written training materials and high-quality video content that support different learning styles and levels of technical expertise Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Consulting to translate practical knowledge and best practices into effective learning content Ensuring training reflects real-world use cases, data flows, and integration scenarios Continuously improving materials based on product updates, customer and partner feedback, and usage insights Delivering instructor-led training on-site and remotely for customers and partners Contributing to the overall learning strategy and helping ensure consistency, clarity, and scalability across all content in the Lobster Digital Academy We’d love to meet someone with: 3 years of experience creating technical learning content, documentation, or training materials for complex software products Strong understanding of interface management, data flows, and data migration (middleware) concepts Practical knowledge of integration architectures, APIs, message-based systems, and data transformation The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, customer-friendly content Experience planning and executing end-to-end training initiatives Comfort working with both written and video-based learning formats Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) Nice to Have: Experience with a Digital Academy or LMS platform (e.g. Document360, Skilljar, or similar) Background in B2B SaaS, middleware, or ERP/EDI environments Familiarity with instructional design frameworks (e.g. ADDIE, SAM) You can look forward to: A modern, spacious office with a view of Lake Starnberg in Tutzing Subsidised lunches in our in-house restaurant A personal learning and development budget 30 vacation days per year 2 additional paid days off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve Up to 20 days of remote work per year from any EU country Bike leasing through our partnership with JobRad Opportunity to work flexibly from home Team evenings every Thursday with refreshments covered by the company A company pension plan (bAV) If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply!
