Responsibilities:
Technical and managerial leadership of a global team comprising four direct reports in Germany and two functional reports in North America and ChinaOverall responsibility for compliance in the areas of customs and foreign trade, as well as excise duties and plastic tax Strategic advice and acting as a professional liaison between the Corporate Tax & Customs function and the business groupsMaintenance, management and further development of the Tax Compliance Management System / Internal Compliance Programme for customs, foreign trade, excise duties and plastic taxAnalysis, optimisation and further development of existing processes to increase process efficiency and to identify and realise potential savings in customs and excise dutiesClose cooperation with internal and external stakeholders in an international environmentQualifications:
Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification, with at least 15–20 years’ professional experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role with line management responsibilitySeveral years’ practical experience in handling customs and foreign trade matters at an international levelStrong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and team leadership skillsWillingness to travel frequently, strong intercultural competence and a good professional networkFluency in spoken and written German and English, as well as good SAP user skills
