Engineering Manager – Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS – Munich / Hybrid – €125,000
Help shape the tools behind Europe’s growing holiday rental industry. This company is building intuitive software that empowers thousands of property owners and managers to run their businesses more effectively — and they need an Engineering Manager to guide the team behind one of their most important platforms.
You’ll lead a small cross-functional team focused on delivering high-impact features to a growing user base. The role is ideal for someone who still enjoys coding but is ready to take full ownership of team outcomes, stakeholder relationships, and product direction.
What’s exciting about this?
The work is meaningful — you’ll be solving real problems for property owners and the teams that support them.
The scale is significant — the platform serves millions of users and is growing fast.
You’ll join a diverse, international product and engineering team in a hybrid setup, with a couple of office days per week in Munich.
The stack includes: Java 11+, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, ReactJS, ActiveMQ, GraphQL, Prometheus, Grafana, and more.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading and mentoring a team of engineers while contributing to hands-on coding.
Working closely with product and design to define the roadmap.
Building features and systems that scale — with quality, stability, and performance in mind.
Fostering a culture of feedback, learning, and ownership within the team.
What’s needed:
Solid experience as a backend (or fullstack) engineer, ideally using Java or Kotlin.
Experience leading teams or mentoring engineers.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Ambition to grow into (or continue growing within) an Engineering Manager role.
If you’re a senior engineer looking to step up — or an EM seeking a mission-driven, product-focused environment — this could be a great fit.
