To strengthen our team at our headquarters near Munich, we're looking for a Project Leader – Physicist/Engineer (m/f/d) for Ultrastable Photonic Microwaves.
* Lead a disruptive ultrastable microwave R&D project to convert cutting-edge innovation into a product.
* Participate in implementing and characterizing a prototype.
* Coordinate cooperation with external project partners.
* Build complex laser systems including free-space and fiber optics, mode-locked fiber lasers, frequency combs, vacuum components, and control electronics.
* Contribute to continuous development of current products to reach higher TRL, and conceive and realize new functionalities by exploring innovative applications.
Your Profile:
* Ph.D. in physics, photonics, laser technology, electrical engineering, or a related field, preferably with postdoctoral research experience or 2-3 years of industrial experience in the high-tech sector.
* Comprehensive knowledge of mode-locked lasers, ideally optical frequency combs, ultra-stable and CW lasers, high-finesse cavities, and stabilization electronics, combined with several years of project management experience.
* Systematic and analytical way of thinking.
* Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
* Open to occasional business trips.
* Excellent English and German language skills.
