Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer to build and lead the risk management function for a newly formed international service company, part of the Allianz Group, following a successful carve-out. With operations across multiple countries, the company will launch as a fully independent entity on January 1, 2026. This role will establish a robust risk management framework from day one, safeguarding operations and the services we provide to customers in alignment with Allianz Group\'s standards and regulatory requirements.
What You Do
* Design and implement the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework embedded in the risk governance of Allianz Group.
* Support the management team in driving a strong risk culture and strategic resilience.
* Set up risk-related policies, procedures, systems, and controls in alignment with Allianz Group requirements and industry best practices.
* Act as a senior advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and Board Risk Committee on risk-related matters, including transformation, operational, compliance, and strategic risk.
* Identify and assess key risks and mitigation measures for the company\'s own operations.
* Promote accountability and awareness through training, communication, and active leadership and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with Allianz Group policies and local regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
* Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and Allianz Group Risk functions.
* Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing global risk team across different geographies.
* Foster a proactive, transparent, and solutions-oriented risk culture.
* Provide accurate, insightful, and timely risk reporting to senior management, the Board Risk Committee, and external stakeholders.
* Act as the key contact for internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as FRM, CERA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Ideally 5 years of progressive experience in risk management within global service or financial organizations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
* Proven experience in building or transforming teams.
* Deep understanding of risk across operational, compliance, and strategic domains, preferably within a group or multinational context.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills at executive and board levels.
* Fluent English is required; additional languages (especially German or regional languages) are advantageous.
* Willingness to travel internationally as needed (approx. 30–40%).
* Interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) are valuable assets.
