Your Role
As a Data Engineer with a focus on AI and Snowflake, you will design, implement, and operate data products that enable advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases across Heraeus. Acting as a technical expert and internal consultant, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and AI engineers to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data products on Snowflake.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and implement data products on Snowflake, from concept to production
2. Build and operate scalable Snowflake-based data pipelines for analytics and AI use cases
3. Develop and optimize data models and transformations using SQL, Snowflake features, and ELT frameworks
4. Act as a consulting partner for business units, translating business and analytical requirements into data product designs
5. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and AI engineers across domains
6. Ensure data quality, performance, security, and compliance in line with governance standards
7. Support the full lifecycle of data products, including monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement
8. Contribute to data architecture standards, best practices, and documentation
Your Profile:
9. Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable qualification
10. 3–5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role
11. Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake, ideally in building data products
12. Strong skills in SQL and Python; experience with Coalesce or similar tools is a plus
13. Experience in consultative roles with close interaction with business stakeholders
14. Experience in Project Management
15. Ability to structure requirements and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
16. Structured, ownership-driven, and solution-oriented working style
17. Very good English skills, German is an advantage
