We are looking for you to join the research group “Patient-Reported Outcomes and Health Economics (AG Michalowsky)” on a full-time or part-time basis (19.5–39 hours per week). The position is limited until March 31, 2029, with the option of extension. The group is a research unit of DZNE Rostock/Greifswald that brings together the research areas of “Clinical Research” and “Health Services Research” at DZNE through its focus on patient-reported and health economic outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to advance your own academic career by establishing your own research approaches and further increasing your scientific output. Personal and academic qualifications and development, such as a habilitation or international research stays, are explicitly supported.
In addition, you will actively contribute to the group’s research topics with a high degree of independence, while also developing and implementing new research areas of your own.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Establishing your own research area in the field of health economics and/or patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) in neurodegenerative diseases by acquiring third-party funding, as well as contributing to joint grant applications
2. Supporting and coordinating national and international studies (e.g., Living@Home, PROFA, DemCaps)
3. Assisting in the planning, implementation, and management of externally funded projects, as well as coordinating and liaising between participating research groups and external partners
4. Preparing study protocols, ethics applications, and reports
5. Analyzing study data using standard statistical software (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS)
6. Developing and validating instruments to measure health-related quality of life (PROMs)
7. Evaluating innovative models of care with regard to their effectiveness and cost-effectiveness
8. Publishing research results and presenting them at national and international conferences
9. PhD in health economics, patient-reported outcomes research, health services research, or a related field
10. Experience in publishing scientific work and acquiring third-party funding (e.g., DFG, G-BA, EU, BMFTR, etc.)
11. Experience in coordinating multicenter research projects
12. Very good knowledge of statistical data analysis (e.g., STATA, SPSS, SAS, R, or similar)
13. A very high level of self-motivation in addressing scientific topics
14. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken

The research focus of the group includes, among others:
15. Studies aimed at improving the understanding of patient-relevant and care-related outcomes in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, other dementias, Parkinson’s disease, and ataxias
16. Development and integration of innovative care models, as well as their evaluation in terms of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness, including support for their translation into clinical practice through translational research approaches
17. Methodological development and psychometric testing of instruments for assessing health-related quality of life and measuring patient-reported outcomes (PROMs)
18. Integration and analysis of health economic and patient-reported measures within clinical cohorts
