Sales Team Lead (m/f/d) Transportation North East

Advanced Polymer Solutions (APS) is a strategic business unit within LYB with $4Bn in revenue, 60 manufacturing sites, serving > 16000 customer and with an active formulation library of over 100k formulation. It was formed in 2018 following the acquisition of A Schulman and is a global leader in compounding solutions. The business is highly complex and being excellent at running a complex business with high service level is part of the business model. APS has launched a transformational program to grow earnings from just over $100 MM in 2022 to >$500MM in 2028.
Day in the Life:
1. Implement the business strategy across the region and segment for the relevant APS product lines (PPC/EP) in selected sales channels
2. Build and lead the team of Regional Account Managers to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in achieving APS sales objectives
3. Ensure that all policies and procedures are complied with by the team and actively role-model them
4. Drive results and achieve revenue and pricing targets with regard to contribution margin, volume, differentiation pricing, quality, and services for the team and assigned customers
5. Manage working-capital-related parameters such as payment terms, overdue receivables, rebate agreements, complexity of customer-specific products and services to achieve an optimal balance between cost and risk
6. Ensure that pricing policy is implemented in accordance with pricing guidelines
7. Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Credit, Quality, Customer Service, Legal, to promote all sales-related processes
8. Support Customer Service to ensure service levels are met in line with customer classification and Service Level Agreements
9. Develop and execute the segment sales plan, including the annual budget
10. Promote operational excellence in pricing management, contract management, SoX audits, implementation of SuccessFactors, etc.
11. Report on key KPIs in the region
12. Recruit, inspire, coach, and provide feedback to Regional Account Managers and support them in achieving sales targets
13. Lead the team while also acting as a Key Account Manager for European converter / tier groups
You Bring This Value:
14. University or higher education degree in Business Administration, Natural Sciences, or Engineering (Master’s degree preferred) or a comparable qualification
15. Extensive and relevant professional experience (10+ years) in polymers, sales, general management, or marketing, preferably in the automotive market
16. Experience in international assignments and working in a multicultural environment
17. Strong leadership skills
18. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
19. Language skills: fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
20. Basic IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Office Word/Excel, SAP R/3, Salesforce)
