DevOps Architect – Charging Ecosystem (m/f/d)

About the role
We are looking for a DevOps Architect – Charging Ecosystem to serve as the technical owner of JOLT’s charging stack. This role is mission-critical for Jolt as it directly ensures our system uptime, which is the foundation of our key revenue stream. This is a hands-on role; the person in charge is expected to perform the actual technical work, from architectural design to operational execution. You will select, implement and manage the software components and partners of our charging stack, ensuring they are connected and run with maximum efficiency to provide a smooth and effortless charging experience for all customers. The role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is closely collaborating with the leadership team as well as the team that operates our charging network.
Main Tasks
* Design, build, and continuously optimize the software architecture of the charging ecosystem.
* Operate the charging stack hands-on to ensure seamless daily functionality.
* Evaluate feature requests from stakeholders (e.g., Product Management), develop technical options, and lead their implementation.
System & Partner Management
* Qualify, select, and technically manage software partners across the charging stack.
* Ensure all core elements—including CPMS, POI data management, tariff management, rating, invoicing, etc —are integrated for maximum uptime.
* Manage technical relationships with direct and indirect sales channels, payment providers, invoicing systems.
Operational Excellence & Revenue Protection
* Secure Jolt’s primary revenue stream by maintaining the highest possible system availability and performance.
* Optimize the technical setup and provide a superior user experience by ensuring a frictionless and reliable charging process for every customer.
* Collaborate with the broader operations team to align technical needs and performance with company growth goals.
Main Requirements
Experience
* Significant experience in Solution or DevOps Architecture for mission-critical, high-availability software systems.
* Deep knowledge of E-Mobility infrastructure, including CPMS and industry-standard protocols.
* Proven track record of managing and integrating complex third-party software environments.
Skills
* Strong technical “doer” mentality with the ability to execute architectural tasks hands-on.
* Excellent partner management and negotiation skills.
* Analytical mindset focused on troubleshooting, uptime optimization, and scalability.
* Proactive and able to thrive in a nimble, fast-paced environment.
Language & Location:
* Fluency in English; proficiency in German, Dutch, or Swedish is a plus.
* Based in Munich, Germany, with flexibility for work-from-home arrangements.
