🔍 Position: Technical Assistant for Cell Line Development (m/f/d)
As a Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting laboratory experiments within customer service projects in a controlled environment.
This position is part of the Customer Service Projects team in Cell Line Development (CLD) based in Cologne, requires on-site presence, and is initially limited to 2 years.
✨ What You Will Do:
* Conduct cell culture experiments focusing on cell line development for customer service projects, primarily in suspension culture. This role requires the ability to work independently, accurately, and in accordance with established processes while collaborating extensively with project management, production, and analytics teams at Cytiva Cologne.
* Independently plan and execute experiments within customer service projects, including tasks such as regular cell count determination, passaging, transfection, generating stable pools, single-cell cloning, banking, and other cell-based assays. Analyze and interpret data using computer-based tools and present results in internal meetings.
* Document laboratory work according to ALCOA+ principles and support adherence to quality assurance and regulatory requirements (QA/RA).
* Collaborate closely with scientists to standardize existing workflows in the CLD workspace, including creating work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Assist with laboratory organization and equipment maintenance.
👤 Who You Are:
* You have completed vocational training as a technical assistant with over 5 years of industry experience, particularly in gene therapy or monoclonal antibody development. You possess a high level of competence in cell biological methods such as mammalian cell culture, stable transfection, and cell-based assays.
* You are a strong team player with a structured working style, motivated to work within established processes, and have a strong customer orientation.
* You have good command of both German and English, spoken and written.
🌟 Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience with the cultivation and handling of suspension cell lines (e.g., mammalian cells), preferably in an industrial setting.
* Familiarity with cell and molecular biology methods including transient transfection, gene editing, and development of genetically modified cell lines, qPCR/ddPCR, protein biochemistry, ELISA, and Western Blot, as well as analytical data interpretation. Experience in the production and analysis of viral vectors, particularly recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV).
* Experience working according to Good Documentation Practices in a regulated environment.
