Director of Drug Discovery Pipeline

A confidential, research-led biotech is seeking a Director of Drug Discovery Pipeline to provide senior scientific leadership across multiple discovery programmes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving assets from early discovery through to preclinical, ensuring programmes progress with strong scientific rationale, clear milestones, and disciplined decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee drug discovery programmes from target validation to candidate nomination
* Provide cross-functional scientific leadership across biology, chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, and translational teams
* Define programme strategy, timelines, and go/no-go criteria
* Support portfolio prioritisation and resource planning
* Communicate programme progress to senior internal stakeholders
Candidate Profile
* PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience
* Significant experience in drug discovery within biotech or pharma
* Proven track record of progressing discovery programmes
* Strong judgement and ability to lead cross-functional teams
* Clear and pragmatic communicator
