In the Powertrain Software Development department for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, our task is to exceed the highest standards of comfort and dynamics while achieving the lowest possible energy consumption. We are looking for a motivated and committed student to take a lead role in developing an innovative AI-powered chatbot to improve internal knowledge sharing and streamline workflows within our department.
This chatbot, in a first prototype phase, uses Large Language Models (LLMs), integrates with various internal systems, and leverages Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide fast information to our employees. We are seeking a motivated and talented intern to help us evolve this tool and enhance its capabilities.
These challenges await you:
1. Collaborate with the user team to enhance the functionality and performance of our AI chatbot
2. Evaluate different LLM agent frameworks to optimize development and functionality
3. Integrate new internal knowledge sources and refine the RAG pipeline to improve the chatbot's knowledge base
4. Develop and implement user feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the chatbot's performance and user experience
5. Research and implement advanced agentic capabilities
6. Focus on developing the chatbot for specific internal use cases
7. Optimize the chatbot's performance, reducing response times and minimizing resource consumption
8. Identify and address any limitations of the current system
9. Deploy the chatbot to an online environment
10. Create documentation and training materials to help employees use the chatbot effectively
11. Conduct thorough testing and evaluation to ensure the chatbot meets user needs and performs reliably
12. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in LLMs, AI agents, and related technologies
13. Exchange with AI experts within Mercedes-Benz company
The activity can begin from October/November 5.
Qualifikationen
14. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
15. Strong programming skills in Python
16. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies
17. Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, Agents, and MCP protocol
18. Knowledge of Docker and containerization practices
19. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills
20. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
21. Passion for AI and its potential to transform businesses
Bonus Points:
22. Experience with LLM agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)
23. Experience with vector databases and embedding models
24. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, )
25. Contributions to open-source AI projects
