Our product operations teams create every shirt, every shoe and every piece of equipment for thousands of athletes and fashion lovers as if it was one of a kind. And it truly is, as they weave their passion into every single product. But translating designs, drawings and renderings into real products requires a lot of decision making.
As Specialist Sample Making you will create high quality samples and custom-made products for top athletes, inline business units, innovative and creative areas or celebrities. The role focuses on sewing uppers for those internal customers. It also includes basic cutting skills, other technologies skills (e.g. logo creation, embroidery) to enable a complete finished upper.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creation of high-quality samples and custom-made products for top athletes by means of various work processes in cutting, sewing and diverse technologies, which are classified in wage groups 1-7 according to the wage group list of the shoe industry
2. Cutting, engraving by means of modern laser technologies and exchange of laser accessories
3. Stitching of various types of machinery and methods at a high level of excellence for a large variety of shoe constructions
4. Processing of specific modifications in custom-made products and technical support on existing inline shoes (e.g. for wear test studies) or completely new buildup
5. Operation of computer programs necessary for the respective machine applications (including atom cutters, lasers, embroidery programs, C/S automated sewing of shaft parts, digital sublimation printing, graphics / application cutters and basics in machine operation programs)
6. Manage a database of technical information required for the shoe development processes and technical interface areas
7. Research on fairs new machine equipment for the upper prototype creation process
8. Identify and propose solutions with creation challenges faced with products (e.g. problems with shaft templates, fit of outsoles/midsoles, material problems) to identify the best approach for effective rapid changes to the product for implementation
9. Operator maintenance and care of all machine equipment
10. Support interdepartmental collaboration with all technical departments to ensure assistance in the production of high-quality prototypes
11. Follow and adhere to Health and Safety measures and behaviors
12. Share your own knowledge with peers and also guide interns or pupils in understanding technology and skills with hands on training as well as safe handling following health and safety instructions

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
24. Technical vocational training as stitching operator required
25. Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the shoemaking industry
