Responsibilities
* Experimental studies in the lab involving downstream unit operations (e.g. chromatography, filtration) and corresponding analytics (e.g. HPLC, cGE, ELISA, qPCR)
* Optimization and automation of lab and data analysis workflows
* Calibration and validation of mechanistic models as well as optimization of downstream unit operations using GoSilico software
What is important to us
* Student in one of the following or equivalent areas: bioengineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, chemical engineering, technical biology
* High level of motivation, good team working skills and ability to implement pragmatic solutions
* Basic experience with preparative chromatography and/or filtration techniques for protein purification
* High interest and ideally basic experience in mechanistic modeling of downstream unit operations
* Basic experience in programming (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C++) is considered a plus
* Internship period of at least 3 months plus thesis of 6 months
