Starting in the Winter Semester /26, the research group Geometric Analysis will be newly established at the Institute of Mathematics of Freie Universität Berlin. Beyond the Institute itself, Berlin's universities and research institutes - such as through the Excellence Cluster Math+ - offer a unique research environment for early-career researchers.
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research within the Geometric Analysis group, help shape the development of the group, and contribute to teaching.
The position is subject to Prof. Dr. Elena Mäder-Baumdicker taking up her position at FU Berlin on time.
Job description:
- Conducting research in the field of Geometric Analysis, for example in geometric flows, geometric calculus of variations, or geometric partial differential equations
- Assisting in the development of a cross-university research seminar
- Supervising students and contributing to teaching activities
- Supporting doctoral researchers within the group
- Publishing research results and participating in conferences
The position is intended for the candidate's own academic qualification (e.g. habilitation).
Requirements:
completed university degree and doctoral degree in mathematics
Desirable:
- Fluency in English
- Connections to the international research community in Geometric Analysis
- International experience
- Teaching experience, for instance as a teaching assistant for lectures or seminars in mathematics
- Publications in peer-reviewed mathematics journals
- Gender and diversity competence
