Chery Automobile is a leading Chinese auto company and an international brand whose business covers more than 80 countries and regions.For our Engineering Center in Raunheim, near Frankfurt, we are looking for aPatent Specialistin our house.We welcome you to join a growing team of extraordinarily talented and enthusiastic people, developing tailor-made cars for the European market.We want to work with a flexible and enthusiastic individual wo will be required to support the development of our European vehicles locally as well as globally - jointly with our teams in our headquarter in China.Key Responsibilities:Patent Lifecycle ManagementConduct patent feasibility studies, searches, drafting, filing, office action responses, and portfolio maintenance, including PCT and EPO procedures.Collaborate with R&D teams to identify technical innovations and draft high-quality patent applications.Monitor domestic and international competitor patent activities; provide infringement risk assessments and design-around recommendations.Cross-Regional Patent Strategy SupportCoordinate patent filing strategies across the headquarters, China, and other target markets; manage communications with European and local law firms or patent agencies.Support the development and implementation of unified global patent application strategies.Legal Compliance and Litigation SupportAssist in patent litigation, invalidation proceedings, and licensing negotiations; support the headquarters in developing and executing countermeasures.Develop and implement patent compliance processes and risk control mechanisms throughout the R&D lifecycle.Cross-Functional Collaboration and Knowledge SharingWork with R&D, marketing, legal, and product teams to facilitate the commercialization of patented technologies.Organize regular internal patent training and workshops to enhance IP awareness across the European R&D center and headquarters.Process Optimization and System DevelopmentContribute to the standardization of patent management processes, templates, and systems within the framework of headquarters' policies.Continuously improve application workflows, reporting mechanisms, and data analysis systems based on feedback from both headquarters and local teams.Headquarters Interface and Dual Evaluation MechanismSubmit periodic work reports to the headquarters IP center.Operate under a dual performance evaluation system from both headquarters and local management; execute cross-regional patent strategies as directed by the headquarters and provide timely feedback.Qualifications:Educational BackgroundBachelor's degree or above in in Law, particularly Intellectual Property Law, or a dual-degree holder is preferred.Background in Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Battery Technology, New Energy, or other related technical fields.Work ExperienceMinimum 3 years of practical experience in patent searching and filing; familiarity with automotive technologies such as NEV powertrains and autonomous driving.Experience in EPO practices or patent operations in multinational companies is a plus; knowledge of German employee invention law is an advantage.Skills and CertificationsProficient in patent search tools such as Espacenet, DEPATISnet, etc.; able to independently prepare invention disclosures and application documents.Fluent in English with the ability to handle technical and legal documentation; proficiency in German or other European languages is a plus.Certified European patent attorney is preferred.Core CompetenciesStrong intercultural communication and coordination skills; high execution capability and team spirit.Quick learner with sound logical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, and strong analytical abilities.We are an international team of professionals with 19 nationalities, friendly and supportive team members, looking forward to your joining
