Your Role: Labour and Employee Relations Manager (f/m/d)
As the Labour and Employee Relations Manager, you will partner with the Leica Leadership Team on strategic discussions related to workforce planning, mergers, and acquisitions. This role involves close consultation and support to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on routine and complex labour and employee relations matters in Germany, while also overseeing global processes where necessary. This position is based on-site in either Mannheim or Wetzlar.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
* Support project management and execution of core employee relations programs, ensuring effective deployment of corporate policies.
* Provide advice and coaching to HRPBs on routine labour and employee relations matters, including workplace investigations and performance improvement issues.
* Manage complex associate complaints and grievances, addressing root causes and developing effective solutions.
* Offer creative recommendations to challenging workplace issues, driving consistency and collaboration in employee relations.
* Guide local change management, reorganizations, and restructurings, ensuring compliance with consultation requirements.
* Drive education and process improvements, strengthening HR-related compliance through proactive measures.
* Act as the main interface between HR, management, and local works councils in Germany.
* Represent Leica Microsystems in global and corporate forums.
The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Law, Labour Relations, Business, Human Resources, or a related field; profound knowledge of German labour law.
* 10+ years of experience in labour and employee relations, handling complex issues including change management and investigations.
* Proven track record in managing relationships with collective representation bodies.
* Advanced competency in preparing and negotiating collective agreements.
* Ability to apply LER expertise with a pragmatic approach, building trusting relationships in a matrix organization.
* Excellent bilingual (German and English) communication skills, both written and oral.
Travel & Motor Vehicle Record:
* Ability to travel as needed.
* Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess:
* Experience in making proactive, fact-based decisions that balance benefits and risks.
* Foundational knowledge of Data Privacy/GDPR as it relates to collective bargaining and associate data management.
