A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Metadata Management Specialist (f/m/d), you will be working in one of our locations in Germany. Your day will revolve around maximizing the value of the Siemens Energy Data Catalog, by integrating metadata from source systems, configuring communities and roles, monitoring the quality of cataloged resources, and testing new catalog features. You will engage with data stewards, application data custodians, database administrators, and the catalog's platform development team improve the discoverability, reusability, and velocity for acquiring new metadata.
How You’ll Make an Impact
7. Configure and maintain enterprise metadata repositories using data cataloging applications (, Collibra), including workflow setup, business glossary management, and metadata model customization.
8. Integrate metadata across platforms and systems, leveraging APIs, connectors, and automation tools to ensure consistent metadata capture and lineage tracking.
9. Develop and support ETL processes using Python or low-code tools (, Alteryx) to enrich, transform, and harmonize metadata from diverse sources.
10. Work with structured and semi-structured data formats (, JSON, XML) and consume/publish metadata via RESTful APIs to enable interoperability.
11. Collaborate with data governance, architecture, and business teams to define metadata standards, ensure data quality, and support enterprise data initiatives.
What You Bring
12. A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
13. Several years of experience in a data catalog deployment within a data governance framework in a multinational corporation.
14. Proficiency in integrating metadata across various platforms and systems, utilizing APIs, connectors, and automation tools for consistent metadata capture and lineage tracking.
15. Strong background in developing and supporting ETL processes using Python or low-code tools.
16. Familiarity with structured and semi-structured data formats (, JSON, XML) and experience in consuming and publishing metadata via RESTful APIs for enhanced interoperability.
17. Fluency in English, with knowledge of German being an advantage.
