Job Description The SW R&D Director will be responsible for the overall operations of all SW projects within the R&D organization for Liquid Chromatography. This leader will lead an international SW development team with specific responsibilities including: Lead the international teams of SW developers through working closely with several SW team managers. Ensure that everyone is aligned with our vision and business plan. Hire and retain SW talents to meet the need of our SW roadmap. Oversee trainings and development plans to ensure the skill set is up to date. Work with R&D senior leader to develop SW strategy that supports business objectives and project roadmap. Partner closely with colleagues in marketing, manufacturing, quality, finance and project management to develop project plan for each project. Allocate SW resources according to business strategy and project priority through partnership with project managers. Provide coaching to team members throughout the project lifecyle. Partner with marketing to understand customer requirements and industry trends. Develop SW technical strategy that supports our long-term business plan and the project roadmap. Partner closely with other SW teams across Agilent to contribute to the Agilent overall SW strategy and deliver complete workflows for customers. Proactively identify issues that may delay product or project and recommends appropriate actions to be taken. Establish consistent SW development processes and best practices to help achieve reliable project execution. Communicate SW strategy and plan to the business senior managers and propose plans to address gaps in either people or technology. Provide technical support when we receive customer escalations if needed. Qualifications The desired qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience, in the area of professional SW development. Minimum of 5 years experience formally leading people, projects and/or programs. Deep knowledge in the modern SW programming technologies such as C# and Angular. Experience in the field of analytical instrumentation with instrument control, data acquisition and data analysis development is required. Extensive knowledge in web applications is desired. Track record of successful commercial launch of innovative SW and workflows. Experience in leading multidisciplinary and international teams is required. Strong inter-personal skills and communication skills are MUST. Experience in collaborating and working in x-functional environment (e.g. marketing, manufacturing, finance, quality) is required. Outstanding ability to communicate down to the team and also communicate up to the stakeholders is also required. Strong experience and ability in change management is required. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
