Description As the Category Lead for Software IT Procurement, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the overall procurement strategy for the Software category. This role involves managing a team of buyers, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and leading procurement projects from analysis to contract negotiation. You will actively support the IT department in budget planning and foster strong relationships with key suppliers. Responsibilities Own and develop the IT procurement strategy for the Software category in a national and international context. Functionally lead and guide a team of buyers within the category. Identify and realize optimization potential, including cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Plan and execute procurement projects end‑to‑end, from analysis and tendering to negotiation and global rollout. Manage and develop key supplier relationships through long‑term strategies and supplier development initiatives. Actively contribute to IT budget planning and provide early procurement input. Monitor category procurement activities and KPIs, including reporting to the Head of Global IT Procurement. Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration while applying strategic thinking, negotiation, and decision‑making skills. Qualifications Completed university degree in business administration, natural sciences, or a comparable field. Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, including at least 3 years in IT/software procurement or a related area. Proven leadership experience managing functional teams. Strong project management skills as a Software Category Lead in an international procurement environment. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), ERP systems (preferably SAP), and e‑Sourcing tools. Excellent command of English and German for effective communication in international settings. Independent, proactive working style with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with a focus on cost optimization, process improvement, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
