Lead Accountant – Germany (F/M) Aachen, Germany – Hybrid (2 days remote per week) Permanent contract
We are looking for a Lead Accountant – Germany on behalf of our client, a fast-growing French IT consulting and services group, which has just acquired a European business unit from a major player in the payments industry.
This acquisition marks the group's first foothold in Europe and comes with the creation of a dedicated finance team in Germany. Reporting to the Group CFO Deputy, you will be the accounting reference point for Germany, with a scope also covering Austria and the Czech Republic. You will manage one accountant already in place and act as the primary finance contact for all accounting and tax matters across the region.
Handle all day-to-day accounting operations (accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank, VAT, general and analytical accounting)
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closings under German local standards (HGB)
Manage relationships with external auditors and support tax audits
Oversee accounting for Austria and the Czech Republic (with support from local accountants)
Manage and support the development of one accountant in place
5 to 8 years of experience in general accounting, either in industry or in an audit firm, on German entities
~ Strong command of German tax regulations (VAT, corporate tax, local tax specificities)
~ Proficiency in SAP and Excel
~ Professional English required
~ Ability to work autonomously, structure processes and communicate with diverse stakeholders (finance management, controlling, consolidation, treasury)
