I am working with a dynamic organisation seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their team. This role focuses on Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems, where the ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning. Tasks
* Conduct comprehensive electrical tests on MV switchgear, covering aspects such as insulation resistance, contact resistance, primary and secondary injection testing, relay checks, and partial discharge diagnostics
* Oversee the commissioning, ongoing maintenance, and repair of MV switchgear and protection systems, ensuring optimal functionality
* Diagnose and resolve electrical faults within MV systems promptly and efficiently
* Uphold stringent safety practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
* Provide expert technical support on-site during installations and system integrations
* Work closely with engineering teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability and performance
Qualifications
* Completed vocational training or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a similar discipline
* Demonstrated experience with MV switchgear, including testing, commissioning, and field servicing
* Expertise in using electrical testing tools (e.g., OMICRON, Megger, etc.)
* Proficient in English (both verbal and written); knowledge of German is an advantage
* Willingness to travel both locally and internationally
* Legal authorisation to work in Germany (or within the EU)
* Experience with protection relays, CTs, PTs, circuit breakers, and interlocking systems
