Our Mission At Circus (Xetra: CA1), headquartered in Munich with offices in Berlin and Munich, we are pioneering global developments in on-demand autonomous food production. From culinary creation to production and operations, everything is powered by seamlessly integrated robotics and transformative AI. Our foundation lies in groundbreaking advancements in robotics, driven by artificial intelligence — the long-missing link in realizing fully autonomous food automation. The time has come for a new status quo: just as autonomous vehicles are reshaping our cities and daily lives, we are redefining the entire experience of food. Our team brings together leading minds in Robotics, AI, Engineering, and Culinary, working closely with industry-leading partners to revolutionize how food is prepared, accessed, and experienced. Join us as we shape a future where the art of cooking meets the science of technology — and where food becomes something fundamentally new. About the Role As our Head of Electrical Engineering, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the entire electrical function at Circus, taking charge of advancing our modular robotic kitchen systems from early design through to global mass manufacturing. You will play a pivotal role in setting the technical vision, developing robust processes for scalability, and ensuring effective partnership with third-party suppliers and manufacturing partners. You will define the standards and systems that guarantee safety, performance, and compliance, leading cross-disciplinary teams and external collaborators to deliver high-quality products at scale. Your Daily Business Take full ownership of all electrical systems at Circus, overseeing research, development, deployment, and the transition to mass manufacturing across international markets. Architect, plan, and execute scalable electrical infrastructures—moving from internal testbeds and prototypes to highly reliable product platforms ready for large-scale production and customer deployment. Set and uphold rigorous standards for safety, regulatory compliance, and quality, including international norms (DIN VDE, DGUV, BetrSichV), ensuring consistent excellence in both internal and supplier operations. Define, implement, and continuously improve testing, inspection, and audit processes, including DGUV V3 protocols and manufacturing readiness reviews. Lead CAD-based planning efforts for mass-production readiness, ideally leveraging EPLAN or AutoCAD to bridge initial concept work with large-scale manufacturing. Build and manage strong partnerships with third-party suppliers, contractors, and manufacturing specialists to optimize ramp-up execution, supply chain robustness, and cost-effectiveness at scale. Own the industrialization process, integrating design-to-manufacture principles and bridging innovation with manufacturable solutions in collaboration with internal and external experts. Mentor, develop, and grow a high-performing electrical engineering team—and coordinate with external partner talent—to drive operational excellence and team capability. Base Qualifications Technical Qualifications Certified Master Electrician, Technician, or advanced university degree in Electrical Engineering. Extensive leadership experience in electrical planning, installation, testing, and end-to-end project delivery, with a demonstrable track record of transitioning products from design to mass manufacturing. Deep familiarity with German and international standards and regulations (e.g., DIN VDE, DGUV, BetrSichV). Expertise in electrical CAD and technical documentation (EPLAN, AutoCAD or similar). Leadership & Execution Significant experience owning a technical domain at a senior/executive level, ideally with exposure to large-scale food tech, automation, or electromechanical product manufacturing. Proven ability to bridge product development and industrial deployment, especially in global contexts involving third-party suppliers. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, structure, and drive execution at scale. Demonstrable experience in team leadership, vendor and partner coordination, and full process ownership. Collaboration & Communication Excellent communicator who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments. Comfortable aligning and influencing both internal stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing, Ops, Deployment) and external suppliers. Fluent in German and English.
