Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: Externally focused, omni-channel role that drives the POS analytics processes throughout Europe. Sets standards in terms of relevant KPIs and key insight-driven activities across the Business Analyst community with a focus towards achievement of strategic and financial goals. The Sr. BA will support cross functional projects to address business risks and opportunities while maintaining a keen interest in driving system and process improvements to align with industry best practices. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders (including retailers, 3rd parties) to provide guidance on how best to leverage our existing enterprise platforms together with new technologies to create the most effective solutions. Finally, the Sr. BA will analyze merchandise and brand activation performance, highlights trends, and recommend actions to drive sales and margin growth for both adidas and our Wholesale partners at a WE level.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional:
* Creation of best in class analytical and reporting tools and processes from multiple (sales, brand) perspectives with a focus on clear storytelling, action oriented output and an ongoing drive for continuous improvement
* Drive for standardization and harmonization of POS related analytical and reporting processes across WE (ex: masterdata alignment, global vs. local system gap analyses and closure) with full understanding of related business impacts
* Responsible for coordination of the business analyst community including best practice setting and training of account and brand facing BAs
* Participates in cross-functional alignment on targeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis
* Identifies Opportunities and Risks in the business against plan and provides actionable recommendations to improve results
* Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for Sales Management, Finance and Marketing to provide detailed overview of business performance
* Convey and emphasize information that enables and influences the cross functional Senior Management decision making process aimed at driving growth, profitability and sales across the organization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Strong understanding of Retail Math and interpreting sell through data to recommend changes that positively impacts the business
* Experience understanding and developing consumer, retail and competitor trends
* Ability to build reports, interpret the data based on current trends that can address both targeted objectives and account specific needs while maximizing sales, margin and inventory turn
* Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
* Demonstrated analytical and financial modeling skills, comfortable with Finance and Accounting principles and strong financial statement analysis ability
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior executives, stakeholders, cross functional business leaders, peers, clients, and customers
* High degree of customer orientation and proactive demand management
* High level of inquisitiveness; thinks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answer
* Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
* University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
* Minimum four years’ experience in retail analytics/planning/buying or related field
* Proven experience in financial and/or operational reporting and analysis with progressive responsibility
* MBA preferred
* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; Access skills a plus
* Solid understanding of retail math, key business drivers
* Familiarity with Microstrategy, BI (Hana) and other relevant adidas and industry analytical software a major plus
