The position of Head of Commercial Finance
And as Head of Commercial Finance, you will lead and develop a high-performing Commercial Finance team, playing a key role within the EMEA Finance leadership group. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and senior leadership to deliver strategic financial insights that drive profitable growth and support effective business planning. This role is central to shaping investment decisions, improving commercial efficiency, and enabling revenue growth across the region. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in developing talent within the finance function, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. But that’s not all, in this role you’ll take responsibility for the following areas:
* Partner with Sales & Marketing to assess profitability, challenge assumptions, and drive growth and margin improvement
* Lead commercial performance reviews, identifying risks and opportunities across markets and channels
* Support retail negotiations and strategic business cases for product launches and investments
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture
* Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, including business reviews for senior leadership
* Drive Revenue Growth Management initiatives, optimizing trade terms, pricing, and promotional strategies
* Champion digital finance transformation through automation and process simplification
* Ensure robust governance, accurate trade spend accruals, and audit readiness
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
This role is not for the faint of heart. We are looking for individuals that dare to be different and challenge status quo but aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the ball rolling themselves. To be successful we feel it is necessary for you to bring the following to the table:
* 8–12 years of experience in Commercial Finance or FP&A within FMCG or retail
* Excellent analytical skills, data literacy; comfortable working with large data sets and transforming insights into actions, financial modelling
* Strong track record in leading teams including people management skills
* Business partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing others, persuasiveness, storytelling and managing complexity across regions
* Proficiency in Excel, SAP (or Oracle), and BI tools (Power BI or equivalent (Tableau))
* Experience with planning tools such as Pigment is a plus
* Solid understanding of the German market and language is a plus
