Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Nickel is a relatively expensive alloying element of stainless-steel. An open point is the influence of lowering the Nickel content but keeping the material properties. In this work this influence shall be studied.
1. Basic qualification of different stainless steels (hardness, corrosion, mechanical properties, …)
2. Planning and execution of different tests as well as data analysis
3. Comparison of different materials for future applications
4. Presentation of the results in front of an international audience
Your profile and competencies to succeed
5. Study of material science or physics
6. Background in material testing especially testing of metals
7. Practical laboratory experience
8. Ability to work independently and high motivation
9. Language: English or German
