Head of Finance – Berlin - 3 days week in the office
c.€120–150k + discretionary bonus
JSS are exclusively supporting a high‑growth, PE‑backed fintech scale‑up in Berlin on an exciting senior finance hire. This is a newly created position, reporting to the CFO and will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the finance function.
Focus
* Lead and mentor a team of 4
* Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for accounting, tax, and financial compliance.
* Drive automation and process improvement across finance operations.
* Ensure high‑quality financial reporting in compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS.
* Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closings with audit‑ready accuracy.
* Partner with senior leadership on finance strategy and cross‑functional projects.
Background
* Qualified Accountant (CPA/ACCA/Chartered or equivalent); advanced degree a plus.
* Ideally 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 in team management
* Experience in scale‑up or high‑growth environments.
* Strong knowledge of German GAAP & IFRS.
* Track record in process improvement
