What we do:
We work closely with installers of climate hardware such as solar systems, energy storage, and heat pumps — enabling their customers to finance installations easily through monthly installments. Our platform provides the technical and financial foundation to make this happen. In doing so, we’re actively accelerating the energy transition — for households, for our partners, and for the planet.
We’ve recently secured €500 million in funding commitments to green 25,000 households over the next two years. Prior to that, we raised two funding rounds backed by several renowned VCs — and we’ve been growing rapidly ever since.
Your mission as Head of Risk (m/f/d) will be to empower company’s growth by leading a high-performing risk team, making smart and secure credit decisions, closely monitoring the credit portfolio, protecting it through strong fraud prevention and collections and shaping agile risk processes and policies for the future.
Tasks
General
* You will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the risk department, which includes credit underwriting and anti-fraud measures, credit portfolio management as well as risk policies and compliance
* Develop, implement and continuously improve risk policies, instructions and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
* Drive efficiency by streamlining risk processes and automating decision-making workflows where possible
* Building, leading and coaching a scalable risk team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
* Bring the risk department to the next level! Introduce a new form of risk based pricing, implement AI tools and applications, develop risk scores and innovate new forms of collateral
* You are responsible to design and implement new things from scratch and not to optimize the last 5%. You take ownership to make things happen!
Credit Underwriting & Anti-Fraud Measures
* Oversee sound credit underwriting processes of both B2B and B2C and ensure that credit risk decisions are in alignment with the company’s risk policy and authority levels
* Implement, monitor and enforce robust anti-fraud measures to protect the business and customers
Credit Portfolio Management
* Actively monitor and manage the company’s credit portfolio, with a focus on installer partner performance and overall exposure levels
* Identify early warning signals and proactively address risks associated with credit quality and partner performance
Requirements
* Multiple years of professional experience in a risk management role, ideally in start-ups, scale-ups or fintechs, with proven expertise in building and leading risk teams as well as in the strategic development of risk departments
* In-depth knowledge of credit portfolio monitoring and debt collections
* Strong understanding of credit underwriting of both B2B and B2C, fraud prevention and risk management best practices
* Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
* Good knowledge of Taktile would be a plus
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the fintech field and ability to design policies that ensure compliance
* Strong analytical skills with experience in credit risk models and data analysis
* You are a hands-on person, who likes to get operationally involved while keeping an eye on the strategic master plan at the same time
