We are offering a leadership position in the Manufacturing Department I (Upstream, Midstream & Media Preparation) at our Bovenau site near Kiel, as part of a planned succession.
* Lead the Manufacturing Department I (Upstream / Midstream / Buffer & Media Preparation), including disciplinary and technical management of 3 team leaders and matrix functions/staff units – approximately 50 staff members
* Manage manufacturing according to AMWHV
* Ensure high quality standards and compliance with GMP regulations
* Promote, monitor, and strategically develop occupational safety
* Plan and oversee tech transfer processes and process validations, review related documentation
* Communicate directly with clients in escalation cases to ensure project stability
* Structurally and conceptually develop the department, including continuous improvement processes
* Coordinate internally with other manufacturing departments in Bovenau and Hannover, as well as process development in Hamburg
* Represent the department during audits and inspections
* Hold a scientific degree, e.g., in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmacy, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in biotechnological manufacturing of active substances or pharmaceuticals, preferably with a focus on fermentation / upstream processing and initial downstream steps
* Have comprehensive knowledge of GMP production and regulatory requirements for biotechnologically produced active substances or pharmaceuticals
* Proven leadership skills and ability to foster a motivating team culture
* Experience working in interdisciplinary project teams
* Fluent in German and English
* Be a precise, solution-oriented personality capable of efficiently coordinating workflows across departments and acting confidently under stress
