The Position The Scientific Information Center (S.I.C.), part of Discovery Research Coordination in Biberach, Germany, is looking for an experienced, dedicated, forward-looking Information (Assets) Portfolio Manager to join the team in Biberach or Ingelheim. As a Portfolio Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of licensed information resources. You will also be at the forefront of driving and implementing the information portfolio strategy of the Scientific Information Center. This position has a hybrid setup with approximately 3-4 days per week on site. Tasks & responsibilities In your new role, you will actively manage a diverse portfolio of licensed life science-specific external information and data sources, including STM e-journals, knowledge databases, and digital solutions. You will work closely with Global Sourcing, R&D Controlling, and Legal to streamline processes like negotiation, contracting, budget planning, invoicing, and payment. Furthermore, you will build long-term partnerships with major information providers to enhance efficiency, optimize supplier performance, and improve service quality. You will lead portfolio reviews and product evaluations, collaborating with internal stakeholders to recommend innovative tools and services that align with Boehringer Ingelheimu2019s goals. Additionally, you will partner with business teams to integrate external data into custom solutions and align content needs across business units. Moreover, you will ensure contractual compliance for licensed resources and adherence to international copyright laws to protect Boehringer Ingelheimu2019s interests. Requirements Masteru2019s degree in library or information sciences, business administration, or life sciences with several years of experience in a comparable position Profound knowledge of Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) information vendors for the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical Industry Proven record of license negotiation (incl. usage rights) for external scientific content, e.g., ejournals Comprehensive expertise of copyright regulations Self-driven approach to learning and mastering emerging technologies, such as GenAI and agentic AI Ability to work autonomously, self-organized, goal-oriented, and reliable, with strong communication and negotiation skills Fluency in English and German Ready to contact us?
