Perform maintenance and repair on aircraft sub-system assemblies such as main rotor heads, transmissions, stabilators, and their sub-components.
1. Inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
2. Perform component bearing replacement, bushing replacement, and line reaming of bushings.
3. Perform Periodic Maintenance Inspection (PMI) on main rotor heads from UH-60, AH-64, and CH-47 aircraft.
4. Perform Time Before Overhaul (TBO) replacement.
5. Responsible for completion and maintenance of applicable forms and records.
6. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
7. Observe all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
8. Perform general aircraft maintenance duties (removal and installation of aircraft assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls).
9. Perform additional duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements
10. High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
11. Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is Required.
12. (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P), with at least (2) two years of aviation maintenance experience, and two (2) years on the assigned UH-60, AH-64 or CH-47 MDS.
13. All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
14. License: FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required.
15. If no A&P, must possess an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 as well as three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
16. If no FCC License, must be willing to get FCC License – please contact the Recruiter for guidance .
17. Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust. Interim NACI approved to start.
18. Must be US Citizen. Must have a current and valid US Passport for travel to Germany.
19. Travel: As required in support of task order.
20. Germany TESA approval: Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; must have over 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
Knowledge & Skills
21. Experience using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and TMDE (Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment).
22. Ability to cross train in various maintenance disciplines ( powerplant, blade shop, or general maintenance on UH-60, AH-64 and CH-47 aircraft).
23. Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data from maintenance manuals, modification (MWO) installation instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings.
24. Knowledge of quality, production, and supply processes required to perform job assignment.
25. Analytical skills required to perform complex troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
26. Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
27. Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
28. Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
29. Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
