Underwriting Operations Specialist (m/f/d)

To strengthen our team at our headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity, we are looking for a full-time or part-time (20–30 hours/week)
Underwriting Operations Specialist (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.
What youll do
1. Prepare regular reports and analyses (weekly/monthly reports, cost centre reporting, loss statistics, underwriting KPIs, profit-share calculations, and budget support)
2. Maintain insurer and partner data in the business system, manage Lloyd’s registrations, support ratings and renewals, and oversee participation codes and country-of-binding topics
3. Manage product and document administration in the business system, including product tables, text modules, layouts, document numbers, and publication on the intranet/internet
4. Update underwriting guidelines and manuals, maintain navigation area tables, and coordinate tariff, rule, and underwriting changes across offices
5. Maintain insurance tax structures in the business system/intranet, implement new taxes or clarifications, and ensure regulatory accuracy
6. Act as a key contact for multiple international offices and actively contribute to the Admin Circle
7. Support cross-functional projects, including product updates, guideline revisions, regulatory changes, Coverholder applications, and market-specific developments
What were looking for
8. Commercial training, preferably with a focus on insurance, but also a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable field relevant to the position
9. Passion for sales, business development, and strategic thinking
10. Excellent written and spoken English skills, as the role involves close collaboration and travel across international markets
11. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
12. Proactive, structured, and results-oriented working style with a strong team-player mindset
13. Prior knowledge of the insurance industry is an advantage
14. Interest or enthusiasm for boating (motor or sailing) is a plus
