JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Manager is responsible for the processing and reviewing of payroll for above property entities, to include but not limited to, Switzerland, Serbia, Macedonia, Sweden, Turkey, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Morrocco and Nigeria.
The role is responsible for ensuring the vendor payroll contracts are compliant, and the terms are adhered to on a day-to-day basis, and has overall responsibility of both the payroll process and the payments and submissions of data to tax authorities and other necessary third parties.

SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT / EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Responsibilities

1. Facilitates the end-to-end payroll process for above property entities.
2. Ensure vendor compliance and service are at a satisfactory level, and contracts are current and compliant with Marriott policy and procedure.
3. Review and processing of invoices for payroll vendor services.
4. Primary point of contact for the output of payroll information from payroll providers, ensuring necessary reviews have taken place for monthly payroll.
5. Collaborates with external payroll providers to ensure a seamless payroll process.
6. Management of payroll calendar for each market
7. Identifies and implements improvements in monthly payroll processes.
8. Inputter and approver for various system and reporting requirements including, but not limited to, system configuration changes, submissions to Tax Authorities, processes by exception, payroll payment release and pension schemes
9. Works alongside HR colleagues to ensure all data input has been successfully processed.
10. Supports key Continent relationships with HR, Compensation & Benefits, Entity Management and Tax
11. Partners with HR & Compensation & Benefits on various benefits schemes, ensuring accurate implementation and management
12. Ensure assistance and support is provided for HR queries related to Payroll output
13. Liaise with Accounting team to ensure all necessary wage types/pay elements are posting accurately to GL
14. Support the Accounting team with balance sheet reconciliation back up
15. Support with statutory reporting in each market
16. Support with audit reporting requirements
17. Support payroll project team with ad hoc tasks
18. Communicates process challenges to Senior Stakeholders
19. Other tasks as assigned by the Director, Payroll EMEA

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

REQUIRED:

20. A minimum of five years’ experience working within a Payroll function
21. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the country of application at the time of application. Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

22. Experience of payroll systems
23. Experience of dealing with external payroll providers and contracts
24. Experience of reconciliations
25. Knowledge of payroll processes
26. Proficient in all Windows applications
27. Clearly demonstrates ability to work under pressure, adhering to strict deadlines
28. Complies with Marriott International policies and procedures.
29. Proactive with a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.
30. Maintains an attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
31. Responds sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status or position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.

33. Highly numerate with strong analytical skills, and ability to present information in a meaningful way

36. Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk
37. Willing to travel when required (infrequent)

Education and Professional Certification:

38. Finance and/or Payroll qualification preferred
