Your role
Main responsibilities include:
1. Design and administration of enterprise directory, identity and access management
2. Design and administration of monitoring/alerting systems
3. Management of corporate messaging (Email)
4. (Co-) Management of the high-end data storage, backup and archiving infrastructure
5. Coordination and oversight of development projects with the WebDev Team
6. Technology evaluations; rapid prototyping
7. Tracking and documenting support events and infrastructure development to ensure excellent service quality and end user satisfaction
8. Continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure and support process based on the needs of EMBL users and stakeholders

9. Contract duration: 3 years (renewable up 9 years)
10. Grading: Grade 6,7 or 8; depending on qualifications and experience (monthly salary starting at €4,459 ,€5,117 or €5,882 after tax but excl. pension & insurances) + benefits

You have
12. A degree in computer science or equivalent
13. At least 5 years professional experience in managing (integration, automation and monitoring) a medium to large-sized heterogeneous IT environment
14. Experience in using technologies such as NetApp (NFS/SMB), IBM TSM, MySQL, Cisco ESA, LDAP (OpenLDAP/FreeIPA/389 DS), Zabbix, FreeRADIUS, Ansible, VMware
15. Familiarity with protocols like DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IMAP, SQL, AAI (LDAP, RADIUS, SSO)
16. Solid experience in Linux system administration
17. Advanced Perl/Python/Shell scripting skills
18. Basic knowledge of networking and IT security
19. A service-oriented attitude, good communication skills and excellent knowledge of English
