Introduction to the Position
Our client, a fast-growing technology company based in Munich, is seeking an experienced Workday Financials Solution Architect to play a key role in the evolution of their global finance systems landscape.
This is a strategic position for a senior Workday professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong business understanding. Working closely with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering scalable Workday Financials solutions that support the companys continued growth and transformation.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide finance processes, lead solution design initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. This role offers the perfect balance between strategic architecture, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on solution delivery.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead the design and architecture of Workday Financials solutions across multiple functional areas
* Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable system designs
* Provide technical leadership for Workday Financials implementations, enhancements, and optimisation projects
* Design and oversee integrations between Workday and third-party applications using Workday Studio, EIBs, APIs, and related technologies
* Facilitate solution design workshops and guide stakeholders through complex business and system decisions
* Ensure solutions align with best practices, governance standards, and long-term architectural strategy
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, IT, and external partners
* Support roadmap planning and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Workday ecosystem
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on finance systems strategy and digital transformation initiatives
Desired Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in Finance Systems, ERP, or Workday Financials environments
* Extensive experience designing and implementing Workday Financials solutions
* Strong technical expertise across Workday Integrations, Workday Studio, EIBs, APIs, and system architecture
* Deep understanding of finance processes including Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and related financial operations
* Proven ability to bridge technical and business requirements effectively
* Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, Finance leadership, and executive teams
* Strong workshop facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Experience leading solution architecture activities throughout the full project lifecycle
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and consulting capabilities
* Fluent English language skills; German language skills would be advantageous
