As a key element within the One adidas pillar of Creating the New, Global Business Services (GBS) has been created to provide globally unified services, based on standardized and automated solutions, across different functions and markets. This will enable us to drive operational efficiency, quality services, improved agility and better decision-making whilst reducing complexity and workload.
After mastering the fundamentals, we will continue to expand the scope or services, as the GBS organization evolves and technological developments enable us to further enhance our operations activities to GBS. We will continually set the pace for innovation at adidas by building technology and working with our people to professionalize our services.
The GBS Strategy & Business Development Director is responsible for developing the medium and long term strategy for GBS, in order to achieve maximum operating efficiency, better customer experience, company agility and decision making, and an effective compliance and control environment.
He or she will interact regularly with markets and functions to understand strategic priorities, operational roadmap and current pain points in order to construct future GBS roadmap, providing strategic direction for PMO, Process and Operational teams in GBS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and drive the medium and long term strategy for GBS
• Co-ordinate and manage market and function teams to understand strategic priorities, operational roadmap and current pain points in order to advise on and build future GBS roadmap
• Drive the Identification of pain points and current inefficiences or inconsistencies in markets in order to challenge the status quo and highlight opportunities for improvement
• Develop a view on feasibility of the new developments globally and advise on build of roadmap
• Create and develop scenarios and potential solutions which could be developed as part of the GBS offering, ensuring feasibility (from a delivery perspective) and that it would meet customer requirements and expectations
• Develop and advise GBS senior management on strategy and business development opportunities
• Drive agenda and prepare presentation materials for roadshow events and present GBS offerings to market and function stakeholder teams
• Drive decision making for the further GBS expansion
• Manage the achievement of the GBS business case
• Development of future business cases in support of the long term implementation of GBS globally
• Quantify and track the benefits realisation from GBS implementation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to think highly strategically and future oriented
• Excellent communication skills in order to drive the exchange with the markets and functions
• Strong planning and organization skills, and ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting
• Complete familiarity with Microsoft Office or equivalent tools (especially Excel, Powerpoint)
• Good SAP knowledge (ideally)
• Enthusiastic and driven for results
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the area of business development
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the area of shared services
